In short, the test and trace requirements will still apply when indoor dining reopens until the government advise otherwise. Any business providing a service to consume food and drink on the premises must display and make available a QR Code or record the customer’s details if they don’t have a smartphone. A typical coffee shop would only need to get people to provide their details or scan the QR code if they are consuming food on the premises, i.e. sitting down to eat. Customers coming in, ordering and collecting takeaways don’t need to provide their details.
