London Living Wage

Our council leader, Peter Mason, is campaigning to encourage local employers in the borough to pay their staff the London Living Wage. So far, over 60 local businesses have signed up to pay the London Living Wage, and the benefits are already noticeable. Recognition of hourly rates, based on the true cost of living leads to better job satisfaction, productivity and improved retention.

To encourage more local businesses to sign up, the council is offering to offset the cost of two years’ accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation by reducing business rates once they have signed up.

The Ealing Living Wage Action Group is hard at work finalising the action plan and collaborating with local businesses and workers. If you would like more details you can find it on the council website here.
