Additional Security Provision Update

Welcome to the latest Make It Ealing newsletter.

Make It Ealing BID has reviewed how best to support safety and security in Ealing town centre following the end of covert security patrols and the introduction of the new town centre police team (alongside the existing Met Police Safer Neighbourhood Team).

Following the survey that was sent out to Make It Ealing members in March, we are now working on finding suitable security provision to be reintroduced in the BID area.

We will send out an update as soon as the right provision is ready to be launched, so please keep an eye out for news.

Opportunity to Support Year 10 Work Experience Programme in Ealing

Hiring apprentices supports businesses to develop skilled, motivated employees, close skills gaps, and improve employee satisfaction and retention. With training costs covered, worth up to thousands of pounds, hiring an apprentice has never been easier through the council’s unused apprenticeship levy funding. Contact us on apprenticeships@ealing.gov.uk for more information.

You can also help someone to take their first steps into employment by offering work experience at your business. Help give young people the opportunity to explore career pathways, build confidence, and start thinking about the world of work. Find out more about the different ways you can get involved or get in touch on schoolsworkexperience@ealing.gov.uk

Business Rates 2026

As a reminder, you can find the new rateable value assessment for your business from April 1st 2026, here.

Most businesses will see their business rates increase, and despite the new lower multipliers, their bills will still rise. Some of the increase will be offset by the new Supporting Small Business Relief, which replaces all previous existing discount schemes, without exception.

The council will automatically adjust business rates bills with the relevant Supporting Small Business Relief applicable to your business. Examples of how the Supporting Small Business Relief will work are available here.
