Summer Colour Butterflies

Summer Colour Butterflies are gracing the flower baskets across town with light-up displays on Ealing Green, Town Square and Oak Rd. Perfect selfie opportunities for sunny days and bringing colour to the town centre.

 
Kings Coronation

The BID office was delighted to receive a card from King Charles and the Queen thanking the participants of the coronation bunting by the local schools. Our Business Support Officer - Desh, posted images of the bunting to the Palace. Our digital bunting is also a big hit with people, as we have had over 30 million views worldwide!

 
Back to School FREE uniform shop.

Ealing Broadway Shopping is helping residents prep for back-to-school with free pre-loved uniforms and sports clothes for all age groups. The free event involves no swaps or payments. Open every Thursday and Friday from Aug 10th – Sept 1st, 10 am – 4 pm (while stocks last).

Biffa Bags

Businesses should have received their 2023-24 bag allocation from Biffa.
We are no longer issuing tape for the cardboard collection. Businesses can now put cardboard into bags. If the card is too big to go into a bag, wrap a recycling bag around the card. Contact the BID office if you have any queries.

 
Guide Dog Guidance

A local business reported that a visually impaired customer was highly distressed to be refused entry to two local stores that allow guide dogs and suggested a callout was needed to ensure staff are fully aware of store policy. Guidance for areas open to the public and assistance dogs can be found here.

 
Ealing Council Surveys
Cultural Plan

Ealing Council are asking residents to give their views on various projects. First up is the Cultural Infrastructure Plan, which aims to map out the existing cultural and creative activities so they can enhance or add activation's to ensure there is artistic opportunity balance across the Borough.

Give My View working on behalf of the Ealing Council, wants feedback on what is missing from the Ealing & Hanwell framework. The aim is to make sure services are relevant and accessible and within a 20-minute framework so people are encouraged to walk and cycle.

ULEZ scrappage scheme

The scrappage scheme has been expanded to include everyone in the Greater London area with a non-compliant car.

From Friday, Aug 4th:
Small businesses and charities with a non-compliant van will receive increased payments of £7,000 (up from £5,000)

From Monday, Aug 21st:
Small businesses and sole traders will be able to receive up to £21,000 in grants to scrap up to three vans.
