Congratulations to Northfields Estate Agency
 

The Northfields Ealing Broadway branch was part of the team who achieved a Gold for lettings in the category of Best Small Agency in London West at the end of last year.

Northfields, a small independent chain owned by Richard Palfreeman, now has a trophy cabinet holding over 35 National Awards for customer service and community engagement. Well done and keep up the excellent work!

Make It Ealing Latte Art 2019
 

Now in its fifth year, the Make It Ealing Latte Art competition is proving to be as popular as ever with our Make It Ealing baristas. This year saw the introduction of a free pour round won by Artisan Coffee employee Adam Norwood. Harris & Hoole employee Jason Butler kept his nerve to produce the perfect latte art heart in the final round and won a cheque for £300. Well done to all who took part and see you next year!
 
Easter Window Art on London Live TV
 

Forty-one businesses rose to the challenge to go bunny mad over Easter and join in the Count the Green Bunny Trail.

The painted shop windows created a lot of positive community spirit on social media, especially on Instagram. People are still posting likes and smiles on the pictures. Businesses enjoyed seeing their brand displayed on their shop windows and visitors enjoyed the fun, humour and bright colours on display.
Oscar Saz Torralea and Quentin Mainier were winners for guessing the correct number of green bunnies hiding in the artwork. They both opted for a £50 gift voucher from Waterstones as their prize to go with their basket of chocolate eggs. London Live transmitted a film about the Easter window art, so we have made a short film of their footage which can be viewed on YouTube here. 

Another budding film director has posted a short film about the window art on Instagram which can be viewed here.

HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY CITY RADIO STORES
 
 

Not many businesses can boast they have survived on the High Street for 90 years, but City Radio has stood the test of time. Jim Riley who took over five years ago takes pride in offering exemplary service and stocking those 'hard to get accessories'. Jim tells me his shop has become a bit of a tourist attraction because of the original 1930's exterior decor. Who would have thought that the word wireless in leaded lights would still be relevant 90 years later? However, the real reason to treasure this gem on our High Street is their vast electrical appliance knowledge, and their willingness to prolong and repair our electrical goods. www.cityradiostores.co.uk
 
 
New Home For Ealing Central Library
 

Ealing Library was initially established in 1883 in Ashton House near Bond Street by Ealing residents wanting to do good for the community. In 1889 it moved to the new Ealing Town Hall but was quickly moved again in 1902 into the newly acquired Pitzhanger Manor where it remained for 82 years. The Library moved to the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre and narrowly avoided closure in 2018 thanks to the generosity of British Land who provided a bespoke new location.

Now 130 years later the Library situated on the First floor of the Shopping Centre is still serving the needs of the community offering a wide range of services and meeting rooms for hire, find out more here.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid , Wednesday 15 May 09:00

This one-day course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in low risk working environments. Learn about the role of a first aider, managing an emergency, communication and casualty care. This one-day course leads to the nationally recognised certificate, valid for 3 years.

There is no charge for BID levy payers to take part in this course. It represents a saving of £185 per person for your business.

Level 2 Food Safety in Catering, Wednesday 5 June 09:00

This course is for people working in catering or hospitality. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of food hygiene rules and regulations. This one-day course leads to the nationally recognised certificate, valid for 3 years and culminates in a short multiple-choice exam.

There is no charge for BID levy payers to take part in this course. It represents a saving of £60 per person for your business.

Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety, Wednesday 19 June 09:00

This Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at people in the management of fire safety in the workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire. Persons gaining this qualification will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.

There is no charge for BID levy payers to take part in this course. It represents a saving of £125 per person for your business.

World Vision in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre
 

Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre is hosting a World Vision Journey of Hope educational exhibition on the Town Square. The aim is to raise awareness and encourage people to sponsor a child.  Child sponsorship gives children and their communities life-changing basics like nutritious food, clean water, healthcare and education.
