Have you experienced violence and abuse whilst working in retail?
We on the Home Affairs Select Committee have recently started investigating abuse and violence experienced by retail workers. As part of this, we wish to explore the police response to reported incidents of violence and abuse. In this survey, the we want to hear from people who work in retail, or those close to them, who have experienced abuse or violence in the course of their work. The survey is anonymous. The results of the survey will be used to inform our understanding of what happens after incidents are experienced or reported. We may use responses or quotes in the course of our investigation so please do not share any private or identifying information about yourself in the open questions. The Home Affairs Select Committee is made up of MPs from the House of Commons, whose role it is to hold the Home Office – the Government department responsible for policing, crime and immigration – to account. We do this by conducting investigations into certain topics, holding public evidence sessions with experts and Government Ministers, and publishing reports making recommendations for the Government to act upon.
