It's Time To Get Social - November 12th @ 6-8 pm.

Mark your calendar as we look forward to your active participation at the Make It Ealing Business social.

We're thrilled to announce Turtle Bay will be our fabulous host for the evening, and they will ensure we have a great time with their signature hospitality, delicious food and thirst quenchers!

The BID team will be on hand to give a quick update on current initiatives.

All we ask is you kindly RSVP so we can ensure the hospitality flows!

Just say 'yeah' here.

RETAIL UPDATE

We welcome Joe Blake's independent coffee house at Ealing Broadway Station, offering a convenient start and finish for all your journeys. With the #notformugs hashtag and an East London pedigree where they craft their coffee and bakery goods, they proudly boast they never compromise on taste or quality. It's a welcome and attractive addition for customers using Ealing Broadway Station.

GET SPOOKY FOR HALLOWEEN

As Halloween approaches, we're excited to announce a fun contest by asking the general public to vote for the best shop window display. The Business with the most votes in the Ealing Broadway BID area will win £200 worth of plants from the fabulous Greenka on Oak Rd. So, don't let your business neighbour out-spook you; put the dusters away!

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY

We'd like to give a special shoutout to Teatro Hall for a fantastic initiative. They've introduced the Parkinson's UK cafe evening, an excellent addition to our community. On the first Monday of the month, the new Parkinson's UK café session is at Teatro Hall, Ealing Broadway, at the entrance of Filmworks Walk.

The café session is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and their families and friends for a drink and chat from 6-8:30 pm.

MAKE IT EALING THIS CHRISTMAS

We will be hosting Christmas Carols on Filmworks Walk on November 30th. We have an advert in The Ealing Living Magazine promoting Ealing for shopping, eating, entertainment, and special offers, so let us know what you are doing so we can spread the word. Contact info@makeitealing.co.uk with details.

SIMPLE RECYCLING

The UK Government is planning to introduce new Simpler Recycling regulations and will be requiring businesses to separate plastic, paper and card, glass, metals (cans, tins and foil)* and food waste from their general waste

The current proposed timeline for implementation is below:

  • By March 31st 2025 - all businesses and other non-household premises with 10 or more full-time equivalent employees.
  • By March 31st 2027, it will be expanded to cover businesses with fewer than 10 full-time equivalent employees and include plastic film packaging, and plastic bags.

We have been assured there will be no immediate enforcement action on 01-04-25. However, it is on the horizon going forward. We will keep the business toolkit updated with information as it becomes available.

PAVEMENT & A-BOARD LICENCES

It's time to renew your Pavement Licence, as all licences expired on September 30th. The council website is still showing 2023 details and is accepting applications based on the costs advertised. So it will be advantageous to apply for a new license now. Apply here

At the moment, no license is required to display an A-Board. A license fee of £150 is displayed on the website, but it is not official policy, so businesses cannot be fined for displaying an A-Board.
