MAKE IT EALING NEWSLETTER - MARCH 2026

Security Survey - BID Members Only

Welcome to the latest Make It Ealing newsletter.

Make It Ealing BID is reviewing how best to support safety and security in Ealing town centre following the end of covert security patrols and the introduction of the new town centre police team (alongside the existing Met Police Safer Neighbourhood Team).

We have limited budget and must decide whether to prioritise a Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) Crime Manager, targeted security patrols, or other initiatives.

We would appreciate it if you could complete this short survey to help us decide how to allocate the safety and security budget for the next BID term.

The deadline to complete the survey is Friday 3 April, 5pm.

Cyber Security
48% of businesses identified a cyber breach or attack in the last 12 months.

UK SMEs are the backbone of the economy, yet many lack either the resources or the time to address complex cybersecurity challenges. Most businesses don’t realise how exposed they are until something goes wrong.

The Cyber Resilience Centre for London understands the pressures of running a business; you don’t need to figure out cyber resilience on your own.

The Cyber Resilience Centre is a police-led, business-focused initiative, fully funded and backed by the government, designed to help smaller businesses strengthen their cyber resilience and better protect themselves and their supply chain against cybercrime. By providing insight into emerging threats and cybersecurity services that translate into actionable steps, the CRC empowers businesses with knowledge and solutions.

Get access to resources, advice and guidance, including:
            • Fully funded security awareness training for you and your team.
            • A range of fully funded technical services.
            • A free 1-2-1 conversation with the team.
            • A monthly newsletter.
            • Regional threat updates.
            • Invites to webinars, events and regional business networking.

The good news is that there are some simple proactive steps you can take to instantly boost your resilience against cyber-attacks and protect your business for the future. Joining the CRC community helps enable SMEs to confidently thrive in today’s digital-first world, leading to a strong UK economy.

Business Rates 2026
As a reminder, you can find the new rateable value assessment for your business from April 1st 2026, here.

Most businesses will see their business rates increase, and despite the new lower multipliers, their bills will still rise. Some of the increase will be offset by the new Supporting Small Business Relief, which replaces all previous existing discount schemes, without exception.

The council will automatically adjust business rates bills with the relevant Supporting Small Business Relief applicable to your business. Examples of how the Supporting Small Business Relief will work are available here.

What's On
Our What's on page highlights upcoming events and activities taking place across the district. We encourage businesses to check it regularly to stay up to date, explore opportunities to get involved, and promote any events or special offers you have coming up.
