Recycling 2024-25

We are changing the way we offer free recycling for independent businesses. We can now offer a choice. Businesses can choose to stay with Biffa or go with First Mile. Both companies will extend BID discounts on future orders across all their services.

The allocation is for recycling bags only. We no longer provide tape, as cardboard can be folded and placed into recycling bags, or a bag can be stuck to the outside of card bundles.

We urge businesses to understand that in addition to recycling, they require a general waste contract. Businesses cannot put out black bin bags on domestic collection days. The council confirmed they will visit every business to request a general waste WTN. Evidence of failure to produce a GWTN will result in a £300 fine.

Please note that Biffa recycling bags come in packs of 50 @ £0.84 + VAT per bag, and First Mile recycling bags come in rolls of 25 @ £1.65 + VAT per bag. This is the discounted rate provided by both companies that you can avail when purchasing your own bags.
