MORE POLICE FOR EALING BROADWAY

Policing on Ealing Broadway is about to change for the better, delivering a substantial positive impact for businesses.

The MET police are actively recruiting a dedicated town centre police team consisting of seven officers and one Sergeant. In addition, the Home Office is funding Operation Martello, keeping town Centres safe this summer.

This initiative has resulted in additional patrols, undercover operations for retail crime and data liaison with businesses. Funding and recognition for a greater police presence in Ealing Broadway, with a Town Centre team, is a result of data collected from reported incidents, regardless of their outcome. Data on theft and ASB generates statistics that enable the MET to assess the crime rate of an area.

Our security initiative with My LocalBobby has been vigilant in reporting crime incidents. However, we recognise that many businesses do not report crimes, feeling there is no point.

We urge every business to report all incidents, as we will only maintain the additional police support in our town centre, if crime is reported.

MET ENGAGE

The police are also updating their communication channels and have ditched using X (formerly Twitter). MET ENGAGE is how the police will be delivering information and engaging with communities. Sign up for MET ENGAGE here.

MY LOCAL BOBBY SHOPLIFTING UPDATE

We publish a weekly bullet-point list of the crime stats My Local Bobby has dealt with. The team records every offender they stop, storing the information on the GDPR ShopSafe Alert App.
