Make It Ealing Business Survey

We sent out a link for a survey we would like every business to complete, as we need your feedback. It will only take a few minutes, and the information will ensure we deliver projects relevant to your business landscape.

SURVEY

BUSINESS UPDATE

Prince Evans Solicitors LLP has moved into Ealing Gateway due to plans to convert Craven House into residential flats. Lloyds Bank has relocated from Oak Rd to Unit 59 Ealing Broadway Centre due to the redevelopment of their original location on Oak Rd.

The Mall welcomes EK Barber (Barber Shop) on 49 New Broadway and Beiruty 39, New Broadway, a takeaway shawarma grill shop. There is a noticeable trend on New Broadway of larger units separating into smaller units.

Refurbishments are underway for hospitality venues on Haven Green, the Mall, and Oak Rd.

Many people are asking about the Balanced Out Living development on the High Street. The original developers are selling the project to new developers, but we have not been able to confirm the details.

International Women's Day

The Team at Metro Bank invited local women to celebrate International Women's Day. Local female business entrepreneurs Vivian Papasotiriou (Yayaka - Greek granny's corner) Amrit Dhanoa and Angela Kanwar, (ublossom.weblossom) shared their journeys and the trials and tribulations to success.

It was a motivating event, with many women sharing their stories. Chisola Chitambala, a candidate for BBC's 2025 Apprentice, spoke movingly and encouraged the audience to trust in their abilities to achieve and succeed.

New Commercial Waste Legislation

Don't forget that new business waste legislation will be implemented from April 1st, requiring businesses to have contracts for recycling, general waste and food.

All businesses must provide evidence via Waste Transfer Notes of how they dispose of food (even if it's just apple cores and tea bags), paper & card and recyclable products.

A general waste bag for everything will no longer be legally compliant. The Wrap England website gives good guidance for the different sectors. You can find official Government legislation here.

First Mile & Biffa offer discounts across the complete range of their services for BID levy payers. Information can be found on the Business Toolkit page

Health & Beauty Licenses

Licenses for health & Beauty premises automatically expire on March 31st. Please remember it is cheaper to renew than reapply, and not having a valid permit invalidates your insurance.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite for the London Living Wage in Ealing Awards Ceremony, which covers 11 categories that recognise the outstanding achievements of London Living Wage accredited organisations in Ealing.

Counter Terrorism Update

Counter Terrorism would like to remind businesses that the current threat level is substantial - an attack is likely.

They are offering awareness training either on-site or via Microsoft Teams. A 60-90 minute presentation will enable you to identify suspicious behaviour and items. A more in-depth course lasts 3 hours and is suitable for larger venues and entertainment areas.
